JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank statements and accounts.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
- Collaborate with auditors during the annual audit process.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure data integrity.
- Support tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- Provide financial advice and support to other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 plus years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., AGA (SA)).
