Scope & General Purpose of the Job:

To support the Kitchen / Catering Management with the operation and administration of the kitchen and its employees to meet the requirements of the commercial contract

Responsible to: Catering Manager
Responsible for: FSA’s, Cleaners, Cashiers, Cooks
In communication with: Catering Manager

Education / Qualification and Experience Requirements:

Minimum Education / Qualification: Minimum Level / Years of Experience:
Matric 2 Years’ experience in a similar position

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Supervision of Food Production and Service
  2. Systems, Controls and Administration
  3. Purchasing and stock control
  4. Hygiene and food safety
  5. Human Resources Management (Subordinates)
  6. Customer Liaison
  7. Self-Management

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Cooking Skills, able to produce meals across the required range of menus / alternatively able to discern required food production standards
  2. Communication skills, able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
  3. Numeracy Skills, able to perform and interpret job related calculations accurately
  4. Administration Skills, able to perform administrative tasks accurately to achieve required outcomes
  5. Interpersonal Skills, able to develop effective interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  6. People Management Skills, able to lead, motivate and encourage team members to achieve deliverables

Additional Skills Requirements:

  1. Assisting FSA’s and Cashiers with service
  2. Completion of SHE documents
  3. Cash up of Cashiers, preparing banking
  4. Good food safety knowledge
  5. Computer literate, Excel
  6. Ability to work under pressure
  7. Ability to lead a Team
  8. Be able to Discipline when necessary
  9. Reliable and Punctual
  10. Be able to complete and Balance sales control sheets
  11. Good Administrative skills
  12. Very good people skills and customer service
  13. Previous Supervisor or similar leading role experience
  14. Able to work shifts and weekends

Disqualifiers:

  1. Insufficient working experience
