Unilever Food Solutions Chef of The Year Competition

We would like to Congratulate our Barloworld unit on being one of six highest scoring teams nationally to be selected for the Mystery Basket National Finals of the Unilever Food Solutions Chef of The Year Competition.

Our CSG Foods Team consists of:

  1. Nolene du Plessis (Catering Manager)
  2. Liezl de Beer (Executive Chef) – Middle
  3. Jonas Maponya (Cook) – Right
  4. Jimmy Marutle (Cook) – Left

Our CSG Foods Team had a strict set of rules to adhere to during the first qualifying rounds of the competition as set out below. We wish our Team the BEST of luck with the Mystery Basket National Finals to be held in Durban on 12th September 2019.

  • Teams of 4 must be from the catering industry.
  • Each team must consist of:
  • 1 x team manager/catering manager/owner/operations manager (26 years and older with 5 years experience)
  • 3x cooks (18 years or older)
  • Three-course meal entry (cold starter, hot main, cold dessert) using Unilever Food Solutions products to serve 8 pax
  • The entire team needs to be from the same establishment
